Well done BBC for picking up work on Natural Flood Management AND for using the upper Calder as their photo (credit to our very own Stuart Jenkinson for the photo)!
I do however remain to be convinced about the statement at the end, by Ben Lukey, a flood risk manager for the Environment Agency, who said there were “insufficient funds to attempt the scale of works proposed in this report, although recent changes in grants might help.”
Well, I would love to know how much of the potential £65million for Leeds FAS2 could usefully be diverted to NFM.
The Aire and Calder Partnership is increasingly involved in this work, primarily through the white rose Forest work and our representation on the EA’s local group on natural Flood Management.
